Aldinga Beach
Located some 47 kilometres south of the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Aldinga Beach is a metropolitan suburb of the city of Adelaide in the state of South Australia. With an estimated population of close to 6,000 residents, this Adelaidean beach is part of the local government area of the City of Onkaparinga (on the southern fringe of Adelaide), as well as the Federal Division of Kingston (one of Australia's Electoral Divisions).
Nestled mid-way through the western shoreline of the Fleurieu Peninsula, Aldinga Beach faces two well-known Australian bodies of water: Saint Vincent Gulf to the north and Investigator Strait to the west. Overlooking an aquatic reserve that protects a rare reef formation that supports sea grasses and sponges, the beach provides quick access to an underwater cliff (part of a submarine trail). Popular water activities that residents and tourists alike can enjoy include estuary fishing, jet boating, sailing, scuba-diving, sea-kayaking, snorkelling, swimming, and wind surfing.
Other suburbs around Aldinga Beach include Aldinga, Port Willunga, Sellicks Beach, Sellicks Hill, and Willunga South.
